| MFR being applied to the neck |
The fascia is interwoven throughout the body and is often times compared to a spiders "web". If you were to tug
on one part of the web...the entire web moves. The fascia is very similar, therfore when the therapist is able to facilitate
a "release" in one area of the fascia the effect can be wide spread.
When clients come for a full MFR session, they often sleep through most of it as the techniques are so gentle and the
effects of the releasing fascia so relaxing!
MFR techniques applied in addition to a "normal" massage session (even though a release can take up to 5 minutes) can
save enormous effort and time when compared to attempting to work out the dysfunction with standard massage techniques!

Compared to the vast number of Massage Therapists out there today, relatively few are trained in Myofascial Release.
Although it is gentle on the client...MFR is extremely exhausting on the therapist as each technique (or stretch) is
held anywhere from 90 seconds to 5 minutes. It is held until the facia "releases". If the therapist relaxes
on the barrier before it releases, then the technique must be repeated.

| MFR stretches can be applied with the forearms to affect a larger area. |
