What is East-Asian Deep Muscle Massage?

East Asian Deep Muscle Massage, focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. These techniques in the hands of a Master do not inflict pain. Pain is caused when an inexperienced MT tries to work too quickly (before the muscles are properly warmed up.

The key to a proper Deep Tissue Massage is "the deeper I go...the slower the stroke is", and taking the time to work one layer of muscle at a time. My 2-hour sessions enable me to do this!

Combined with the use of Japanese Hot Stone Therapy this modality thoroughly warms up the muscles which prepares them for the deeper strokes. The stones allow the therapist to work much more deeply than what he could do with the bare hand alone, and the heat penetrates deeply into the muscles for the use of forearm and elbow techniques.

Long slow strokes and firm pressure along the length of muscle releases muscles and allows them to move freely. Friction across the grain of muscle tendon reduces adhesions. Deep manipulation of specific muscle groups decreases acute or chronic pains and tension of the body.

Why Deep Tissue Massage Hurts...and Why it Shouldn't

A "Deep Tissue Massage" should neither cause pain during the massage, nor should the body be in pain afterward. A therapist that tells you that "it needs to hurt to get the pain out" simply does not know what they are doing!

People are sometimes hurt really bad and are even bruised after receiving a Deep Tissue Massage. This is usually because the therapist is attempting to cram the entire body into a 50-minute session!  One stroke done properly can take up to 2 minutes to perform! This takes too much time to be included at the Spa where they are only allowing 50 or 70 minutes for the session.

That's why I offer 2-hour sessions (120 minutes).  You need that time (and so do I) for the massage to be done properly!

You will be amazed at how deep I am working...and you will be amazed with the results!
