I am very aware of the "battle" in the newsgroups and elsewhere over the issues of nudity and sensual massage. Massage Therapists that perform sensual massage are called prostitutes by those that don't...and worse. 

So here is why I, (a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist)...chose to break from the tradition and the "boundaries" that are held so dear and sacred to us.

I practice a system of sensual massage called Taoist Sensual Massage.

I started looking into methods of sensual massage because several of my female clients had asked me if I new anything about it, how to do it, and if I would perform one on them.  One had just come back from Japan and her husband had given her one as a "gift". She really enjoyed it and asked if I knew how to do it.

When I asked her exactly how it was performed on her, I was actually quite embarrassed that I didn't have the slightest idea how to perform it, (and was really glad that I didn't say that I did).

You see, I thought that what they were asking about was an "erotic" massage (see below), but as different women explained what it was that they wanted, ( or what they had received), I realized that my idea of sensual massage wasn't even close to what they were looking for...not even close to what a "true" sensual massage is.

Even after being asked several more times, (and mind you...these are long term clients doing the asking), I still resisted. Mainly because of incorrect perceptions on my part, what I was told about "boundaries" in massage school...and the laws here in Nevada.

Then during a massage session one of my clients told me about a really bad experience one of her friends had with an underground "parlor" that she went to. This friend, was one of my clients that I had turned down when she asked if I would perform a sensual massage on her. The next time she came to me, she told me exactly what had happened.

I felt really bad about her experience, so I finally decided to learn sensual massage so that my turning a client down, would never again be the reason that they would potentially risk their personal safety by going to one of the underground parlors.
 
When I began my study of Taoist Sensual Massage, I realized that I knew very little about how a woman really wants (and deserves) to be touched! I also found out that many women don't know either...nor do they know how to express it to their significant other.
  
Taoist Sensual Massage helps a woman to open up...become comfortable with her body...and teaches her how to bring this newly found comfort and knowledge into her relationship with that special someone.

I am now able to provide my female clients that feel like "experimenting", (like the one client that go into a bad situation), as well as those that simply prefer the more sensual side of massage, an environment of trust and respect from a genuine "Certified Massage Therapist".

I am surprised how many clients have asked for this to become a permanent part of their massage session.

Being that all massage can be somewhat sensual in nature, now would be a good time to explain what Sensual Massage is and what it isn't. First, let's compare it.

Therapeutic Massage

Even though Taoist Sensual Massage is extremely therapeutic and healing, therapeutic massage is generally thought of as Swedish, Deep Tissue and so on...you know, the massage modalities that are listed on the "menu" at your local spa.

Even "therapeutic" massage can be sensual because you are nearly (or totally) unclothed, and you are not only being touched, but the therapists hands are "gliding" over your skin...and any one that says that hot stones aren't just about the greatest thing they have ever felt...well, hasn't had a hot stone massage yet!

If your massage therapist is comfortable with the human body (and many are NOT!), then a proper massage stroke will follow the muscles right to their insertion points, and when working on the upper leg, those insertion points are on the pelvic girdle, which brings the therapists hands into regions that few people are ever allowed...all while expertly avoiding the genital area.

There are other areas, too, which male (and female) massage therapists are uncomfortable getting close to. Some avoid working on the abdominal region all together and won't venture any where near the breasts.
  
So, if you are going to a massage therapist that won't follow the muscles to their insertions, doesn't perform abdominal massage, and won't work the muscles of your chest because they are uncomfortable getting that close to the breast tissue...then nearly 1/3 of your body is not getting in on the massage...that's not what I call a full-body massage!

All of these areas can (and should) be given attention! A master massage therapist, can perform greatly beneficial massage techniques on all these areas without exposing or touching areas that should not be exposed or touched during a therapeutic massage session.

The point is...even without exposing or touching "forbidden" areas...a massage can be a very sensual experience.

Sexual or Erotic Massage

This is what most people think that Sensual Massage is.
  
Most of the time (like in Las Vegas), they are right. Erotic Massage, though, has one purpose...masturbation to climax...PERIOD! They hide behind massage to get client to come in, but very, very few have any formal training in massage.

An "Erotic" massage is also known as a "release" massage. The customers genitals are massaged until they orgasm...or release. Again, this is the only purpose...and the goal of an "erotic" massage. Very little, if any, therapeutic massage is done.

There are forms of sensual massage that can take you to this level, but the masters of true sensual massage are helping their clients with the "release" of emotional scarring and beliefs that have been incorrectly forced upon the individual causing all sorts of emotional (and physical) symptoms and problems. The orgasm is not the goal, nor the intention of a true sensual massage. You can read more about that in the next section.

Taoist Sensual Massage

This form of massage is designed to help heal emotional scars. It helps females with PMS and menstrual problems and combined with Lymphatic Breast-Care Massage it can also help with non-malignant lumps and fibrotic tissue in the breasts.

It helps a woman to become comfortable with her body, her sexuality and with communicating what she wants.

Before I go further, I want to re-emphasize...a massage can be performed very sensually, without ever exposing or touching the breasts or genitals.

Only when proper boundaries are in place, and a high level of trust is established, should you begin to experiment with the "upper levels" of a sensual massage.

When a woman is being touched by a Master of Taoist Sensual Massage, she will feel as if this person is touching a woman for the very first time, exploring every inch of her body that she has agreed to...and yet...knows exactly how to do it. She will feel as if she is a Goddess, being given the utmost respect, tenderness and compassion that can be conveyed with touching. She will feel worshipped! She will feel protected, assured, totally comfortable and relaxed. She will experience a level of love and trust that she never knew was possible, because this Master of touch is thinking only about her...cares only about her...and is totally focused on what she wants from the session.
